You pick 9 fabrics and the sudoku puzzle decides where they go! No obsessing over fabric placement or getting caught up in analysis paralysis.

We will learn the “grid piecing” technique, so the quilt top remains a bit of a surprise until it’s finished. This top comes together so quickly! It’s a fantastic way to practice precision with your seam allowance and matching seams.

*I will send the unsolved sudoku before class starts. Don’t want to solve it? No problem. I’ll have the solved puzzle ready on the first night of class.

The finished quilt will be approximately 54″ x 72″. You can purchase additional fabric to add borders if you’d like the quilt to be bigger.

Because this quilt comes together so quickly, we are making a complete quilt – piecing, basting, quilting, and binding.

This class meets Thursday nights, June 5 thru July 3, from 5:30-8:30pm. You can come work in the studio on Saturdays or during Open Studio if you need more time.

The suggested class fee is based on 18 hours of studio time, 8 1/2 yards of fabric, and batting. Participants receive a 40% discount on fabric.

If you would like to bring your own fabric, you will need:

  • Top – 14″ (width of fabric) of 9 fabrics
  • Border – 1 1/2 yds
  • Back – 3 1/2 yds (no border) or 3 3/4 yds (with border)
  • Binding – 1/2 yd (no border) or 3/4 yd (with border) – based on 2 1/2″ binding strips

Cancellation Policy

Class fees are non-refundable. If you cancel your registration more than 24-hours in advance you can:
  1. donate your class fee to the Pay-What-You-Can fund
  2. credit your fee to a future class
  3. transfer your fee to a friend.
 
No-shows and cancellations made less than 24 hours from the class will automatically be donated to the Pay-What-You-Can fund.
